When Shannon is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband of 24 years and college aged twins. She enjoys watching her son play college baseball at Mid Atlantic Christian University, visiting her daughter at UNCW, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Brooke began working at East Wake Education Foundation in March 2017 after six years of preschool experience. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Community Services. Working with children and their parents is so rewarding to Brooke and she loves to come up with great ideas to make learning fun and interesting to the children. Giving children a great foundation is imperative to the primary school years.
In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband of 12 years, two children who are 11 and 9. As a family they love to serve at their church and spend time with friends.
Becky has been involved with the East Wake Education Foundation as the wife of an EWEF founder, a Board member and a supporter since its beginning in 1993. Becky was a CPA who retired as the Director of Financial Services at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in 2012. After realizing retirement was not “her thing”, in 2017 she was excited to step off the Board and into the role of Administrative Assistant when Shannon White became the Executive Director. Now she gets to do her two favorite things, accounting and playing.
Becky is the proud mother of a grown son and daughter and the proud GranB to a grandson and granddaughter. You might find Becky and her husband of over 40 years eating out at any of our East Wake restaurants because cooking is not “her thing” either.
Angie Fuentes started working at East Wake Education Foundation in September 2021 after 16+ years of Early Childhood Education. Her prior experience includes pre-school teacher, School Readiness Specialist, and Instructional Assistant-Blended Program at Project Enlightenment. Angie believes the early years for children are critical to their development and is the foundation to a successful future in school and life. She loves being able to work with children and their families at EWEF.
In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and watch her kids play baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and dance. She is a mother of 5 children and has been married for 13 years. As a family they love to serve at their church, in their community and spend time with friends.
