Linda began as the first President of East Wake Education Foundation in October 1993.
Linda supervises the staff as they work in the area of child development with families. Public Relations, grant writing, financial transactions and budget management also fill her days. When Linda is not at East Wake Education Foundation, she can be found designing jewelry, enjoying outside lawn maintenance, home design, and writing.
Linda would also like you to know that “nothing is more important than investment in children.” Linda is a retired Department Manager with Wake County Human Services and has her Masters Degree in Social Work Administration. Linda has one grown daughter that is a trained family therapist and one beautiful granddaughter.
Shannon Speller- F.A.C.E.S. Coordinator/ Child Development Specialist

Shannon began at East Wake Education Foundation in March 2005 as the Family and Child Enrichment Services Coordinator (F.A.C.E.S.). Since being hired Shannon has become a trained Parent Educator and Incredible Years facilitator.
Shannon schedules and maintains outings on the Mobile Unit, schedules activities for Tumblin’ Tuesday and Thumpin’ Thursday, assist in grant writing and public relations, and facilitates Incredible Years parent meetings.
When Shannon is not at East Wake Education Foundation she can be found at NC State Football games, Carolina Hurricanes Hockey games, or in a car, boat, or plane heading somewhere!!
Working at East Wake Education Foundation is not a job to Shannon it is a passion.

Shannon began working at East Wake Education Foundation in June
2010. She is a graduate of UNC Wilmington with at degree in Communication
Studies.
Shannon’s list of duties include; updating the data log,
maintaining the time sheets of the staff, taking staff meeting minutes, keeping
the budget on track, scheduling Wacky Wednesday activities, making sure our
partner list is updated, and keeps the staffs and foundations calendars
straight. These are just a few of the things that Shannon does for East Wake Education
Foundation.
When Shannon is not working she enjoying spending time with her
family. She has been married for 12 years and has twins that are 6. She enjoys
watching her children play sports, riding on their boat, going to the beach,
camping, and planting flowers. “If you carry your childhood with you, you never

Natalie Kaufman- Parent Educator/Early Reading Specialist

Natalie began her work with East Wake Education Foundation as an intern through Wake Technical Community College in 2005 and began working with East Wake Education Foundation in May of 2006.
Natalie is responsible for coordinating activities for Hora Latina and Reading Readiness classes. She is also a Parent Educator with the Parents as Teachers program. She visits a minimum of ten families per month to share developmental information, age appropriate activities to encourage learning, provide annual health, dental, vision, and developmental screenings and provides resource support.
When Natalie is not at East Wake Education Foundation is being a mother to her five daughters ages 7-18. She enjoys listening to country and Christian music, playing card games, going to church, bible study and prayer.
Natalie genuinely love working with the children and families at East Wake Education Foundation. She takes what she has learned in her parenting, combined with current developmental research to provide parents with more “tools” for their parenting “toolbox”.
